Safeguarding & Online Safety
All Kirklees schools, including Manorfield Infant & Nursery School, follow the Kirklees Safeguarding Children Board Procedures. The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their children. However, there may be exceptional circumstances when the school will discuss concerns with Social Care and/or the Police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures). The school will, of course, always aim to maintain a positive relationship with all parents.

Online Safety
At Manorfield Infant & Nursery School, we take online-safety extremely seriously. We believe that it is the right of all children to feel secure and safe when using technology. We teach children to use the internet and other technologies safely, and to know what to do if they feel uncomfortable with anything they see or hear either online or through other technology such as mobile phones.
Parent information to help your child stay safe at home and school.
When using DB Primary, at school or at home, the children know they can press ‘the whistle’ to ask a grown up for help.
It is important that you check your privacy and safety settings. Search engines such as Google have ‘search settings’ buttons which you can alter to restrict searches and filter out inappropriate content for children. This is usually a simple tick box wizard which takes little time to complete. It is advisable to have some kind of parental control software. Some software can be downloaded from the internet for free.
Below are some links to some really useful sites which are relevant to parents with primary-aged children and beyond. Technology will keep changing so it’s important to keep yourself up to date!
