In Reception, we aim to create a warm, welcoming and stimulating learning environment which will encourage children to explore, investigate and learn through first-hand experience. We also aim to make it a place where children feel secure and confident, and are challenged to develop their independence whilst they play and learn both indoors and outdoors.

There are seven areas of learning and development in the Early Years Foundation Stage. At Manorfield we believe these seven areas are equally important in order to promote the development of the ‘whole child’. We aim to deliver all the areas through planned, purposeful, playful learning, with a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities.

Each half-term we plan interesting learning opportunities through our topics. This year we will be doing some exciting activities, and we will have lots of fun as we learn together.
