Admissions

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2

Reception
Children are admitted to school at the start of the academic year in which they have their fifth birthday (1 September - 31 August).

All school applications now are via an online application process. The deadline for this application for admission to school in September 2024 is 15 January 2024. If you require any help with this, please contact the school office for an appointment.

Our nursery children visit reception regularly during the term before they transfer to school and meetings are arranged for parents/carers to discuss transfer to full-time education. Children are gradually introduced to full-time school routines and attend school for an hour visit, then a morning session, lunchtime and finally a full day.

Years 1 and 2
We understand that family circumstances such as a house move may mean your child needs to change schools mid-year. If you wish to change schools, please complete the relevant online application form. This information will be available from your child’s existing school office. Full details of this procedure are available on Kirklees Council website.

Our school session times are:
8:40am-3:10pm

Please visit www.kirklees.gov.uk/admissions for for more information.

If you would like your child to join us in September, please apply via the Kirklees website

Nursery

Places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds
The school is able to offer nursery places for children aged from 2 years, either as a paid day care, or through local authority funding for disadvantaged families.

The universal offer of 15 hours free care and education means the majority of our children are admitted to the nursery at the start of the term that follows their third birthday.

Your child will be offered either five mornings or five afternoons per week, (a total of 15 hours per week).

The sessions are detailed below:
Morning 8:30-11:30am
Afternoon 12:30-3:30pm

While the majority of nursery places are for either morning or afternoon sessions per week, a small number are reserved for flexible attendance, including full days or a mixture of afternoon and morning attendance.  For more information about these places and availability, please contact the school's Business Support Team

As part of the admissions process, all our children and their families are visited at the beginning of the term before admission to the nursery class.

To register for a school or nursery place, please collect a form from the school office. Completed forms should be returned to the school office with the child’s birth certificate.  We will then contact you when a space becomes available.
