Online safety

Here at Manorfield, we take online safety extremely seriously. We believe that it is the right of all children to feel secure and safe when using technology. We teach children to use the internet and other technology safely, and make sure they know what to do if they feel uncomfortable with anything they see or hear either online or through other technology, such as mobile phones.

Parent/carer information to help your child stay safe at home and school.

It is important that you check your privacy and safety settings. Search engines such as Google have ‘search settings’ buttons which you can alter to restrict searches and filter out inappropriate content for children. This is usually a simple tick-box wizard, which takes a short time to complete. It is advisable to have some kind of parental control software, some of which can be downloaded from the internet for free.

Below are some links to some really useful sites which are relevant to parents/carers with primary-aged children and beyond. Technology will keep changing, so it’s important to keep yourself up to date.
